TheInstitute of High-Performance Electrical Machine System and Intelligent Control(IHEMSIC) is a professional scientific research institution of Jiangsu University. With the national high requirements on manufacturing and the strategy of the Priority Academic Program Development of Jiangsu University, the goal of IHEMSIC is to promote innovation ability, strengthen the discipline characteristic, expand the social impact, and give full-range support for Jiangsu University in the areas of electrical engineering, control science and engineering. Based on the existing threeprovincial keylabs, the IHEMSIC also focuses on cutting-edge technologies and basic theories in the field of electrical engineering, products and production technology issues that enterprises urgently need to solve, and strive to build a leading domestic scientific research and innovation base in the field of electrical engineering.

At present, the IHEMSIC has twelve full-time researchers. Among them, there are four Professors, three Associate Professors, and five Assistant Professors. Specially, Prof. Wenxiang Zhao has been awarded as the winner of National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars. In addition, there are more than 80 doctoral and postgraduate students.

Since its establishment, the IHEMSIC has undertaken two major (key) national projects, fifteen National Natural Science Foundations of China, and more than thirty provincial and ministerial projects, with a total funding of more than ten million RMB. It has been awarded first and second provincial and ministerial level awards for five times, published more than 200 SCI papers, and authorized more than one hundred invention patents. Meanwhile, we have published two textbooks and one monograph.
